Kathie is the Watershed and Natural Resources Manager at the Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes Center, where she is the Chairman of the Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes Collaborative.
Prior to employment at the Dunes Center, Kathie worked at the Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo County where she was the Co-Chair of the Dunes Collaborative and Chairman of the Dunes Restoration Task Force. Kathie received her B.S. degree at the University of California at Davis in Environmental Planning and Management, is a Registered Landscape Architect, and has more than 20 years of regional park planning and watershed management experience.
She worked on the Newport Bay Watershed Management Plan, the Helena Modjeska Historic House and Gardens, and she sat on the Lower Los Angeles and San Gabriel Rivers and Mountains Conservancy Board. She helped spearhead the Southern California Wetlands Recovery Project and was publicly elected to two terms, including one as President, on the Board of Directors of her local Sewer Agency. Kathie is the Vice-President of the Board of Directors for the Coastal San Luis Resource Conservation District and an alternate to the County Board of Supervisors Water Advisory Board. In her free time, Kathie and her husband of 20 years, Paul, rescue retired racing Greyhound dogs.
