I am the Administrative Coordinator at the Dunes Center. I recently changed jobs from the City of Santa Maria and prior to that working with the Northern Santa Barbara Special Olympics I also held the position as Health & Safety Specialist for the Northern Santa Barbara County at the American Red Cross.
I am a graduate from the University of California, Santa Barbara campus obtaining a Bachelors of Science degree with a double major in Ecology & Evolution and Environmental Studies. I worked on several projects in the dune ecosystems at USCB (invasive species removal/native plantings), partnered to complete the first herpetological study focusing on the success of dune restoration and led a grant research project on beach grooming on Santa Barbara beaches and the central coast. Attending Allan Hancock College, my interests were first peaked in the sciences and I earned my Associate of Science degree in Biology.
Hobbies of course include the natural sciences and enjoying nature. But most days, I enjoy reading, knitting, and crochet, scrapbooking and digital photography. I especially enjoy spending quiet weekends with my husband John and taking long drives together.
