The Dunes Center itself is one of our most popular exhibits. The 1910, Stickley-designed craftsman bungalow, which is home to the Dunes Center, has been accurately restored and provides a view of what life was like in Guadalupe at the beginning of the 20th century.
The main entrance to the Dunes Center is from the rear parking lot.
During the home's complete restoration an amphitheater was added for group events as well as an upper-story observation deck for enjoying the exquisite views of the dunes.
Interior view of the dining room. The built-in buffet and coffered ceiling are classic elements of the Craftsman style of design. The interior of the Dunes Center is filled with treasures of period furnishings including a working player piano. The conference table and chairs are also period originals.
The living room area of the Dunes Center includes the restored flag stone fireplace and authentic reproduction arts and crafts style furniture. It is often occupied by locals and visitors engaged in lively discussions about Guadalupe history or what bird or wildflower has just been spotted in the dunes.
