Welcome to Guadalupe Speaks, California Stories

The Project:

Guadalupe Speaks is a project administered by the Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes Center in Guadalupe, California.

As its name suggests the project aims to collect oral histories from Guadalupe residents and to present the stories back to the local community through various forums.

Some of the future plans scheduled for the project include: formal presentations; informal coffee and conversation groups; enhanced resident Internet use; and poetry readings.

Guadalupe Speaks is part of the statewide California Stories initiative and receives limited funding through the California Council for the Humanities and the Santa Barbara Foundation.

The long-term goals of the project are to get residents talking together and to develop a more positive vision for Guadalupe’s future.
